Defending the Pine Bowl - Whitworth Football

>>Whitworth Football

Experience.  That's what this year's Whitworth Pirate Football team has.  QB, O-Line,  D-Line...I like those three elements already.  That there can win you games.  Mix in just a couple of playmakers and you have yourself something.  Throw in several and - well - this could  another one of those seasons at the Pine Bowl you don't want to miss.  With 6 of the 10 regular season games at home, Whitworth should be a Saturday destination. >>Mariners Rally To Outlast Jays

Humberto Quintero had three runs batted in, including a go-ahead two-run homer that capped a six-run fifth  inning, as the Mariners topped the Blue Jays 9-7 at Safeco Field.  Seattle avoided a three-game sweep against the Blue Jays.  Justin Smoak drove in two runs and Nick Franklin had an RBI triple for the M's.  Brandon Maurer pitched three-and-one-third innings of relief for the win to go to 3-and-7.

>>Mariners To Face Brewers

The Mariners get today off before opening a three-game interleague series against the Milwaukee Brewers tomorrow.  The team will induct Ken Griffey Junior into the Mariners Hall of Fame before Saturday's game.  The M's are 53-and-61 and look to move above .500 at home.

>>Seahawks Set For Preseason Opener

Safety Deon Grant is retiring from football as a member of the New York Giants.  Grant spent his final two seasons with the Giants, helping New York win the Super Bowl in 2011.  The 34-year-old started his career with the Panthers, who drafted him in the second round of the 2000 NFL Draft out of Tennessee.  Grant also spent time with Jacksonville and Seattle over his 12-year career.  He racked up 776 tackles, 30 interceptions and six-and-a-half sacks in 176 games.

>>PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

Just a complaint here.  All of these channels and not one can bring us TIGER TV?  I hate that we can't watch every swing on television from Tiger Woods live.  Starting coverage of the tournament with his round in progress is absurd.  Fore!
